All I Want For Christmas...

....is my two first steps! Emersyn officially took her first steps today at nine months and a week! What in the world are we in for now?

He's actually coming for Christmas?

Yes, Emersyn, Grandpa IS coming for Christmas : ) We bought our Christmas tree today. She thought the trees were VERY funny! She also thought the stuffed animals we found at the grocery store and the baby dolls at Walmart were funny too. We're looking forward to your visit.

Santa Who?

So we went to see Santa last night. It took much longer than I expected for her to get really upset. She sat on his lap for about 5 seconds, stared at him for about 5 seconds and then screamed!

Emersyn is getting bigger every day. She has one tooth and is working hard on the second. Some of these pictures are from our photo shoot yesterday (Sunday) for her Christmas card. She was smiling at Diddy when these pictures were taken. Yes, her Haloween fairy wings ARE on his head and he is making them flap. Very funny - and a little scary!

The other pictures are of Emersyn's alter ego - upside down girl. Upside down girl make an appearance every evening at bath time. (Yes, they are out of order. Sorry. You can figure out which one is which.)

Emersyn has had a very busy fall. She has eaten some leaves, watched NC State play football, helped Jonas build his house and went trick or treating. Of course, everyone knew the candy wasn't Really for her.

Emersyn is also getting to be more and more fun every single day. She is very strong and almost crawled on Saturday. She can sit without support and can pull herself up on the couch, bed or anything that she can grab. She holds your fingers and walks around and around. I'm pretty sure she won't be crawling long before she takes off walking.

In terms of eating, she is trying little bits of all kinds of things. The only food we've found that is NOT good is garden vegetable baby food. We know she's a southern girl though. She loves mustard greens, corn bread and grits! Her favorites - yogurt, pears, apples and blueberries and gerber stars. She can feed herself pretty well too. It's funny to watch because it is messy and she is so precise and dainty picking up the food and then just shoves it in her mouth.

Riddle Bitty can almost sit by herself now. She has also been a little bit sick this week, but as you can see from the pictures, she is recovering nicely. I swear she gets cuter every day - and could her smile be any bigger?

Hello to all who still check this blog! Emersyn is still growing and is showing more and more personality every day. It is so fun to watch her grow and change.

Emersyn's had a very busy weekend. She went to the mountains, went swimming and "ate" cereal all for the very first time. Very exciting. The first picture is in the car seat on the way to the mountains, the second is in the mountains, the third is her exausted sleeping by the pool after swimming and the last is her trying to eat.

Emersyn is starting to push up a little with her arms when she is on her stomach. This is a HUGE accomplishment for her. Up until now she could not stand to be on her stomach. She also figured out that she has a voice about three days ago and has been having all kinds of conversations with us ever since.

Riddle has developed two new talents over the past month.

1. She can almost fit her entire fist in her mouth just like her Daddy.

2. She has enough head control to sit in her exersaucer.

We are so proud.
