Weekend at the River

We went to Tata and Captain's river house this weekend. It was beautiful and we had a lot of fun. We went kayaking and she lost her hat. She was very upset. She even pointed to the water the next day and said "hat?" The mosquitoes were quite bad so we had to stay inside and on the porch a lot, so we played dress up, tea party and car racing. She is ready to play with big girl toys. I'm watching Craigslist right now for a play kitchen.

Emersyn is really starting to put together sentences. It is amazing how many words she knows and uses regularly now. She says things like "need daddy," "more please" and many, many more. You find yourself looking at her thinking where in the world did that come from? But, then you realize she's been working on this for 17 months now. She found a play cell phone and walked around the house talking and talking very seriously. She would say "hello Emersyn" and then jabbered in complete sentences.

She also sings four song and either says a few word or does hand gestures or both. Her repertoire includes the Itsy Bitsy Spider (she moves her hands like a spider), row, row, row your boat (she says row, row, row and pumps her arms like she is rowing), ABC's (she knows how to say A, B, B, B.... kind of gets stuck on B) and her all time favorite is ring around the rosies (she will instigate the singing of this song, pick who participates in the ring and then falls down whenever she wants).

Also, we've all almost gotten over this round of daycareitis. It hit mom and Emersyn the worst. I hear we gave it to Ganpaw when he was visiting from California. The whole family is on antibiotics right now! There is also a picture of Emersyn and Ganpaw on his visit mixed into this group of photos.
